Bradbury’s Coffee in downtown Madison has to be one of my favorite cheat day treats thus far. I first tried Bradbury’s with my mom about 2 years ago, and we both have been addicted ever since. As weird as it may sound, I have a love for quaint cafes, where I can sit and relax with a steamy cup of coffee and enjoy the atmosphere that surrounds me. I am always on the hunt for another hole-in-the-corner cafe. I know I have found a keeper when it has a cozy feel, friendly baristas, and some mellow music mixed with the nosies of the espresso machine. I don’t know about you guys, but there is just something about the grinding of the beans, the whistling of the espresso coming out, and the clanking of the dishes that is music to my ears.
Bradbury’s sits on a corner surrounded by glass windows and is easy to pass by if you don’t know it exists. However once you know it exists, you will never pass that corner again without peering in and wishing you were inside. Bradbury’s has a old-fashioned feel to it with its wood table tops and stool seating, but at the same time has a modern feel to it with the glass windows and bright, natural light coming in. Its not the coziest of places, but definitely still has a warm feel to it.
Now onto the most important part, the drinks and food they serve! They offer a variety of coffee drinks and specialty crepes. They also have a small selection of muffins and scones in front, but the real star of the show is the crepes. They rotate their flavors of crepes, but always have both savory and sweet ones available. If you want to customize your crepe, they do that as well. My go to is the dark chocolate, slivered almonds and banana crepe, mmmmm! The crepe is perfectly thin and airy, and has just the right amount of filling. Then to pair with my crepe, I order a mocha. Their mochas are hands down the best I have had in Madison. The baristas here have incredible skill and a true dedication to the art of coffee. I don’t get here as much as I’d like, but I also have to continue to try new places for my cheat day treats! I hope you can make it out here if you are in the area and try these irresistible treats! What do guys look for in a cafe that makes it a favorite spot for you?
